I called tall grass and explained there was no way I could make it there . The lady who answered was named Dayna , with a sense of urgency but in a very calm manner , she told me exactly what to do, and before hanging up, said for me to call back . Our frenchie had an intense “de-gloving” around 7pm last night. We walked in and they got to work right away. They called me back to show me the extent of the injury once he was sedated and he thoroughly explained what he was seeing and what things were to come in healing and wound care. So many things to note about the entire experience: cleanliness- 12/10 it not only smelt amazing, the office was clearly designed for a stressful moment to not feel AS stressful. Friendliness: 12/10- both the nurse and Dr were kind and clearly really love what they do. Financial: not one time did I have to sign a paper full of possible outcomes financially before they’d spend time on him or give him a thorough exam. In fact… the bill was more reasonable than my regular vet and the care was 10x what we receive there. The Dr made professional decisions based on Bruces needs as they unfolded and never once acted like he cared more about money than our dog. Idk about anyone else’s experience with an emergency vet but ours have been horrific. I spoke with Dana on the phone and she responded immediately and used quick problem solving skills and got in touch with Dr. Madron who was actually on his way out the door. He was more than willing to turn around and see my cat the same night. This spoke volumes to me. What really stood out to me was his level of knowledge, care, transparency and honesty. He answered my questions thoroughly and although at this point it was past closing I never once felt rushed or like I was given surface level answers. Dana even took time to walk me through the next steps as far as care at home and cost for an upcoming visit, which I will add that in my opinion it was quite reasonable. I'm beyond grateful for the level of care and dedication this office has. From the moment I walked into Tallgrass I instantly felt taken care of by Dana and Dr Madron and immediately knew Winston was in good hands. I was pretty frazzled because Winston had been attacked by another dog and Dana got me straight back to a room and then to Dr Madron. This is the nicest Vet I have ever been too. Dana even showed me around the new facility and I was beyond impressed!
